With my renewed interest in Titanicus I decided to pick the second campaign book Doom of Molech, this book covers one of the Warmaster's decisive battles during the Horus Heresy.
After the break I will cover what is in the book and what I am looking forward to now that I have read it.
As with all Forge World books the print quality is very high, full colour hard back book with 80 pages.
Inside there are some great colour plates as shown above that just scream Horus Heresy and the combat where the Knights and Titans Clash.
So what do you get in the book?
House Divine |
- Background: Discover the date fate of Molech. This battle was penned way way way back in the 90s by Gav Thorpe in an old WD then brought into the Horus Heresy by Graeme McNeill in his novel Vengeful Spirit. Won't give anything away but a very good read.
- Legions of Molech: New legions and rules for them including the Loyalist Legio Crucius and Legio Fortidus and the Traitorous Legio Vulcanum and Legio Interfector.
- New Maniples: 2 new maniples Defensive Fortis and Ferrox Light Maniple.
- Narrative Missions: 6 new missions allowing you to refight the major battles for Molech.
- Battlefields of Molech: New battlefield hazards to use in games including the deadly environments found on Molech, however these could easily suit any world that you may be fighting over in your campaign.
- Knight Households: Expansive rules for commanding a Knight Household and fielding an entire army of Knights.
- New Stratagems: 30 yes 30 new stratagems, I will cover Stratagems in a future article.
One of my favorite parts of this new book is the rules for Knight Households, it gives players a nice change of pace instead of having to field Titans in every battle. For those that play in campaigns having a Knight Household will offer some more variations to the style of play.
The book is another really good addition to Titanicus and it shows that both GW and FW are committed to fully supporting this system. So if you have not bought it yet. Go buy it!
