Legio Vulpa
With more in-depth reading of Titandeath it was time to choose my traitorous Legion. Looking at the colour plates and thinking what I was going to enjoy the most my mind was set and Legio Vulpa was chosen.
Check after the break where I will go through some of the Legio rules and Knight Households that sided with Legio Vulpa
Legio Vulpa also known as the Death Stalkers where seduced by the Dark Mechanicum they where known for the cruelty on the battlefield, it was said that during the Great Crusade that they would vent their plasma over settlements and take pleasure from crushing rebels beneath the feet of their Titans rather than expending ammunition on them.
This reflects in their Legio Traits, Stratagem, and Wargear
Legio Trait: Honour and Blood
More focused on close combat a Death Stalkers Titan that is within 3 inches of an enemy Titan increases their weapon skill by 1 and decreases their ballistic skill by 1
This will lead to a focus on my Titans fielding more close combat weapons looking forward to arming up a Reaver with chainfist and powerfist and wondering how it will fair on the battlefield.
Legio Stratagem: No Pity for the Vanquished
When a enemy Titan is destroyed, then the Titan that inflicted the killing attack may make immediately make another attack with the same weapon system against a fresh target within 12 inches.
I am not sure if I am going to employ this but will give it a go and see how it fits my style of play.
Wargear Plasma Gargoyles, Disruption Emitters
Plasma Gargoyles when using a repair dice to vent plasma nearby units may take damage if within 3 inches
At 15 points it is costly but fits in very well thematically and could cause some nice extra damage.
Disruption Emitters this give +2 to strength of all melee weapons
An additional 30 points to the Titan means that will need to be focused on ensuring that they get into combat to wreck the opponents.
Their are a number of Knight Households that fought alongside the Death Stalkers
House Devine with their Purple and Gold Livery
House Hyboras with their Red and Orange Livery
House Niagma with their Grey and Orange Livery
So I have some nice variant schemes to choose from
Later this week I am going to start assembling a Warhound Titan and test out my colour scheme.
What traitor households have you chosen?
