Legions Imperialis: Army Progress Shots so far

 

Made some major progress on my army over the last couple of weeks, so here is a photo dump of my progress so far. Its so hard to get good shots of these models and the kitchen work top definately does not help. 

As you can see I have most of my first formation completed just another 8 stands of Auxilia to complete the formation. Next up on the table is 8 Leman Russ Battle Tanks and 1 Baneblade. Then it will be onto my supporting Knight Formation.

Black Templars: Chaplin Grimaldus & Retinue Construction

 

At the start of the year I mentioned that I will be looking to start a Black Templars army. I remember painting Chaplin Grimaldus when he was very first released, and now that he has crossed the rubicon, I thought he would be the prime candidate to get my black armour technique sorted and to lead my force. Only got time today to get Grimaldus and his retinue assembled. Next up will be undercoating and getting the base layers on.

I have left the actual banner itself off to make it a bit easier to paint. 

Legion Imperialis: Solar Auxilia Charonite Ogryns

 

First post of the week sees me complete the Charonite Ogryns nice a quick paint job. Undercoated Leadbelcher and then picked out the arms and legs with a red contrast paint, Speed Paint 2.0 Golden Armour, all the piping with Black Legion Contrast paint then a wash of Nuln Oil. Added to the pre-painted bases and Hay Presto another 50 points done and dusted.

Yes well spotted there is a lonely Ogryn this so far has been my only ping lost the piece casualty.

Legion Imperialis: Sons of Horus Assault Marines

 

This week got some more work done on completing building Legion Imperialis army ready for my first tournament on the 10th of February. I left most of my completed models back at work so did not have them to take some photos. But will do an update on my army progress so far early next week.

But models did have with me are my first 2 stands of Assault Marines for the Sons of Horus. They do have 4 stands of Tactical Marines and 2 Rhinos painted as well. 

I am planning on these to be a small attachment joining my Solar Auxilia.

Keeping to the techniques shown by Mediocre Hobbies went with a light grey undercoat , then a layer on contrast terradon turqoise, black shoulder pads and weapons picked out with contrast black legion, then metals picked out with Sir Two Coats. Stuck to pre- painted bases. Boosh job done. 

Legion Imperialis: Solar Auxilia Malcador Battle Tanks

 

My first post of 2024 and my first set of completed models for Legion Imperialis. I know from my last post I had not featured my Armoured Company. But over the weekend I signed up with my local gaming store 7th City Collectables in Sandicare UK for a 2000 point tournament in February. So I have my work cut our to get my army ready and finished and get some test games done in time.

With the Malcadors its 2 of each weapon type and large use of contrast paints and Speedpaints. Once I have the entire of my Armoured Company completed I will go back and weather all the tracks and other sections in one go.
