Booze For Gamers: Mainbrace Review

Booze For Gamers: Mainbrace Review

Asda have been doing their own label range of IPA, Porters for a while, but this one seemed to have passed me by.

Check after the break on what the label notes say and my thoughts on the IPA inside.

So in my first beer review I am going to lay out my thoughts on tasting. First up will list up the brewers notes and what they say on the bottle or can. I am going to list Colour, Aroma, Taste, Summary. ( Yes I know it spells cats)

BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Shepherd Neame Ltd
England, United Kingdom
shepherd-neame.co.uk

Style: English India Pale Ale (IPA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.50%

'Complex and refreshing with a light citrus tang and a lingering hoppy aftertaste.'

'This exquisitely smooth ale boosts a light malty flavour and is brewed with locally grown hops and chalk filtered mineral water drawn from the well of Britain's oldest Brewer'

So those are the brewers notes, what do I think of the beer?

Colour: Light caramel brown colour with a very light off white head.
Aroma: Slight hint of licqorice and brown bread.
Taste: Malty bitter and no taste of light citrus tang or a long aftertaste.
Summary: It really does not deliver on the tasting notes on the front.
It is far removed from being a light refreshing drink. Not sure when this would ever get drunk. I would give this one a swerve.

1 out of 5 for me.
